What does bone health have to do with it?

One thing I have learned through the years is get some medical help but is there more to health than just the physical?  The concept of bone health is an example.
First, bones are living tissue with many minerals.  Living things can be repaired with the correct nutrients.

  • Osteoclast:  Breaks bone material to release minerals to the blood.
  • Osteoblast:  Rebuild bones

Second:  Our bodies have an intelligent acid/alkaline balance system.
When the body is acidic from eating processed food or stressed emotions calcium is taken from the bones.  The calcium is taken to be a buffer to  restore proper alkaline balance.

What is the solution to an acidic body pulling calcium from the bones?
1.  Bone weakening foods:  soft drinks, white sugar, white flour, carbonated drinks, dairy and alcohol
2.  Bone building foods: Sesame seeds, almonds, chia seeds, and green leafy vegetables.
3.  Deal with the soul issues that weaken the bones.

  • Grief:  Psalm 31: 9-10
  • Wounded spirit:  Proverbs 17:22...but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
  • Envy:  Proverbs:  14:30

4.  Apply bone strengthening principles in your life.

  • Good report: Let go of gossip and complaining or victim mentality.
  • Pleasant words:  Proverbs 16:24
  • Psalm 34:20-21  He protects all his bones.  Not one of them will be broken.

Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Next time you have an illness or body issue that is compromised in addition to the medical attention ask God to reveal if there are any other issues at the root of this physical manifestation.  I usually get a great answer which allows for a better chance of complete healing.  Try it and let me know how that goes.
